WHAT WE OFFER

CONVENIENCE: Open 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, the Center provides care and instruction for children from 33 months of age to 8 years old. The Center is licensed by the State Department of Human Services and the Department of Health to serve 60 children.

FLEXIBILITY: Parents may chose a traditional pre-school program with full or part-time child care, or the pre-school only, or before-and-after-school care for older children.

AGE-APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES AND EQUIPMENT: Equipment and activities are developmentally appropriate and are designed to provide a safe and stimulating setting for fun and developing new skills. Children are encouraged to explore their interests and abilities through a combination of both structured and independent activities. The daily routine includes both indoor and outdoor play, crafts, games and music activities, storytelling, cooking healthy snacks, and free exploration time. Afternoon rest-time following a nutritious hot lunch. (An optional breakfast is also available at a nominal extra cost.)

EXPERIENCED, CARING STAFF: The well-trained and experienced staff work with small groups of no more than ten children. An exceptionally low turnover rate among the staff means St. James teachers build stable, long-term relationships with children and their families.

REASONABLE RATES: As a non-profit program, fees are reasonable, with special consideration given to low-income families. Financial assistance is provided as funds become available.
